The Vacancy
FitzRoy are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join our welcoming and dedicated team in Teddington, on a permanent full time basis.
We support 30 people across four services, working alongside individuals with learning disabilities and autism, including those who are non-verbal. Our focus is always on delivering person-centred support that enables people to live fulfilling, meaningful lives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in care who is ready to take on a leadership role where they can make a genuine difference—both to the people we support and to the team they lead.

About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the quality and culture of our services.
You’ll work closely with the Service Manager to lead and support the team, ensuring high standards of care, strong compliance, and a positive, inclusive environment. You’ll build trusted relationships with the people we support and their families, ensuring their voices are central to everything we do.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your experience, judgement, and ability to support others will be highly valued.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading High-Quality, Person-Centred Support
- Embedding person-centred approaches that reflect each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals
- Supporting the development of meaningful activities and opportunities that enhance independence and wellbeing
- Encouraging active involvement in the local community
Supporting and Developing Your Team
- Leading by example to create a positive, supportive team culture
- Coaching and developing staff to deliver consistently high standards of care
- Supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing performance management
- Ensuring clear expectations and accountability across the team
Maintaining Safe, Effective Services
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the services, including rotas and resource planning
- Contributing to audits, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to processes
- Supporting financial oversight and efficient use of resources
Building Strong Partnerships
- Developing positive relationships with families, professionals, and the wider community
- Promoting open, honest communication across all stakeholders
- Championing equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice
About You
You’ll bring:
- Solid experience within the care sector, ideally in a senior or supervisory role
- A strong understanding of person-centred care and supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism
- Confidence in leading, supporting, and developing teams
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, solution-focused approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with a range of people
