About the Role

We are looking for experienced Enhanced Support Workers (Waking Nights) to join a specialist supported living service providing one‑to‑one support for one male with complex support needs.

This is a single‑person service, requiring consistent, skilled and values‑led overnight support to ensure safety, wellbeing and emotional stability.


Waking Night Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Providing awake, one‑to‑one overnight support within a supported living environment
  • Monitoring wellbeing, safety and emotional needs throughout the night
  • Responding appropriately to behaviours that may challenge using Positive Behaviour Support approaches
  • Administering medication in line with training and protocols
  • Completing night‑time routines and regular wellbeing checks
  • Accurately recording overnight observations and support provided
  • Maintaining a calm, reassuring presence and a safe environment
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure continuity and consistency of care

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for experienced support workers who can confidently work waking night shifts in a single‑occupancy, complex needs service. You will have:

  • Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs and/or behaviours that challenge
  • Experience working with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs or trauma
  • The resilience and confidence to work independently during night shifts
  • A calm, compassionate and person‑centred approach
  • A strong commitment to promoting dignity, choice and independence
  • The ability to demonstrate FitzRoy’s core values in practice
  • A genuine passion for making a difference

Training & Support

You will receive ongoing training and professional development, including:

  • Autism and learning disability
  • Mental health and forensic risk
  • Trauma‑informed support
  • Positive Behaviour Support
  • Medication administration

You will also benefit from regular supervision, strong management support, and guidance from FitzRoy’s Mental Health Lead/Practitioner.
