FitzRoy are a dedicated care provider offering specialised support to individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, epilepsy, diabetes, emotionally unstable personality disorder and trauma. Our aim is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling, independent lives within a supported living setting. We are looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join our team as Support Workers.

We are looking for someone who wants to have fun and make a positive impact on the people we support at Fernhill Court.

The Role:

As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in helping people with complex needs live as independently as possible. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to deliver personalized care plans, support individuals with challenging behaviours, and assist with daily living activities. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions with personal care, medication, and managing health conditions such as epilepsy and diabetes.
  • Helping with daily activities, including meal planning, budgeting, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Supporting individuals to develop life skills, promote independence, and achieve their personal goals.
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner, using positive behaviour support techniques.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with people we support, their families, and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in care, especially with individuals with complex needs (e.g., autism, mental health, brain injuries, etc.) would be an advantage.
  • A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, managing challenging behaviours (PROACT SCIPr training provided).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and best practices in supported living.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, between 7am and 10pm, including weekends and evenings.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care).
  • Experience with specialist support (e.g., trauma-informed care, EUPD, or working with acquired brain injury).
